Faith Tidbits

Disclaimer: This post is about my faith.  If that makes you uncomfortable then please stop reading.  It is not my intention to make my readers feel awkward in any way.  I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  I am very proud of that part of me and I love the church with all my heart.  Twice a year the church has a worldwide conference.  I love the inspiration that I get from those conferences to be a better person and to serve others always.

Here are some of my favorite thoughts from one of the sessions of the last conference that was held in April 2014.

"Pure Christlike love flowing from true righteousness can change the world." -Jeffrey R. Holland (click here for great printable)
-Love is the greatest thing we have to offer others!

"It is important for each of us to strive to lay up our spiritual treasures in heaven-using our time, talents, and agency in service to God." - Ronald A. Rasband (Printable here)
-In today's world of fast paced living, we have so many opportunities to not serve others, to forget about our families and our greatest relationships (mankind).  This quote brought it back to the purpose of life...to be the best we can be and to help and love others along the way.

"Christ was the first to be resurrected and never die again, to possess forever a perfect, eternal body." - Carlos H. Amado (click here for a printable)
-This talk was a very raw and touching talk through the whole thing.

"Marriage presupposes total allegiance and total fidelity." - Talk by Linda S. Reeves (quoting President Spencer W. Kimball)
-I love marriage.  You have a permanent best friend, your greatest cheerleader through life.

"everyone, independent of his or her decisions and beliefs, deserves our kindness and consideration." -Neil L. Andersen  (click here for great printable)
-I loved this quote because I have some dear dear friends who are not of my faith.  I actually have awesome family members who are not of my faith.  I feel sad just thinking about the missed opportunities and experiences I would have had if I did not open my heart and mind to them.  I love them and I value my relationship with them.

"Heavenly Father and the Savior are our perfect examples of what we can and must do.  They never force righteousness because righteousness must be chosen."  -Henry B. Eyring
-Forcing people to see things your way will NEVER EVER work.  Love them and be their friend no matter how different your beliefs are.

If you want to find the full talks for this session you can find them here.
