Honestly I kind of tripped over the women's cropped trousers that I currently have.  I found them at Old Navy and they fell into my lap.  Honestly, I have been so surprised with how much I love them.  I like to wear them both to dress up...of course, but it as been fun to make them more casual as well.

I love stripes.  Stripes on everything for me!  They are so simple to pair with anything and everything.  The key is to find a simple women's striped shirt.

Women's button down shirts can be casual, but they can certainly be more dressy as well.  That is what I like about them.  Since I have two in my wardrobe I usually try to get one of each style.  A more fancy one that might require a bit more care and then one that is more casual.

I've said it so many times, but I love skirts.  This is one category that I always feel like changing up.  I love skirts and dresses and the way I feel when I wear them and the way they look.  

So once again a pleated or flouncy skirt was not hard for me to add to my wardrobe.  Once again the hardest part was figuring which ONE I would choose.  I tend to change these out about every year, just to give myself something new.

I knew I needed a pencil skirt in my wardrobe.  Honestly, in the Summer I LOVE to wear my pencil skirt.  I like wearing skirts more than shorts.  So the hardest part is only having one!

How to wear a pencil skirt?  Really how to NOT wear a pencil skirt is a better question.  Like I said I wear skirts in the Summer ALL THE TIME.  If you get a casual enough pencil skirt then you can  even wear it to a baseball game.  Just make sure it is neutral enough and also that it is comfy enough.  

Floral or Patterned Dresses (Minimalist Wardrobe List: A 36 Piece Wardrobe)

It took me awhile to get on the floral wagon.  I have been on it for quite a few years, but I remember when they became popular I was a bit hesitant.  I only have 2 dresses in my whole wardrobe!  This can be a bit difficult.

So when it comes to floral or patterned dresses I have to be very picky.  I need it to be beautiful, but I also need it to be versatile.  One year I had a striped dress, but this year I went with a floral dress.  If you have a small wardrobe know that you can swap them out when you get tired of one of them.  I tend to wear one for at least a year.  If I love it more then I continue wearing it.

Simple High Heels Shoes (Minimalist Wardrobe List: A 36 Piece Wardrobe)

Question:  Do high heels and motherhood go hand in hand?  I mean really?  I knew I wanted high heels in my wardrobe.  I am blessed with some height.  I am not the tallest girl in the world, but still I am tall enough.  So I don't NEED heels, but I wanted them.  

So I had to set out and look for simple high heels shoes.  I like to go the simple route, because I don't wear them often.  I need to be able to run after a toddler that doesn't want to do something.  I need to hold my kids hands and not worry about toppling over.  Do you get what I am saying?  My simple high heels shoes are great!

I haven't worn my flats that much lately.  However, Spring is here and I see a lot of women's flats shoes being worn!  I love Spring and all the fun things that I get to pull out after the Winter.

Let's talk about blazers and denim jackets for women for a bit.  I liked the idea of having a denim jacket in my closet, but I also liked the idea of having a blazer.  I knew I had to pick just one so I thought about the pros and cons.  For the denim jacket I saw pros in the fact that I am a stay at home mom.  I rarely have to get dressed up for anything so more casual made sense.  However, there is a con with that too.  I loved working in an office for many reasons, but one of those reasons was the fact that I got to dress up.

Women's leggings outfits are pretty controversial.  Some people think they are VERY appropriate while others think they are VERY inappropriate.  There are people that fall in the middle, but people tend to be passionate about each side.  Although I tend to be in the middle I can feel quite awkward because I don't know what others think around me.

I was really nervous about having a military inspired jacket being part of my 36 pieces.  I honestly didn't know if I would wear it enough to make it worth being one of the items.  If you only have 36 articles of clothing and shoes then you want each piece to count.

I remember when booties became popular and I did not know if I could ever be on board with them.  I laugh at myself when I think back to that!  Women's ankle booties are a staple in my closet.

This category is also a must.  If you live somewhere cold you NEED a nice coat.  Not a skiing coat, but a nice one.  One that you can wear causally as well as dressed up.  

A women's pea coat or fur coat can do just those things.  I tell people to pick which one fits your style the most.  I tend to be more of a pea coat person.  So that is what I have.  I have a black and white one that goes with anything and everything.
