Decluttering Tips for a Clutter Free Home
When I read the book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up I was so intrigued with the idea of never having a rebound. The thing that bothered me the most with decluttering was that it was constant. Once you decluttered your house you started over with where you started. I felt like it was very defeating.
How to Declutter Your Home
I was at a loss on how to declutter and feel good about what I did. I would find ways to declutter, but then in 3 months, 6 months, or even 1 year later I would find myself needing to declutter that same area again. It was quite defeating.

This house is so cluttered. I have no idea how to organize my life and my house. I really need to figure out what I want to keep and what I want to get rid of. Yep, we have all said these things.
I was done with saying these things and actually doing something about it at the end of 2017. I had to make a change or else I was going to go crazy! I had read The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up earlier that year and it was ACTUALLY life changing. So I decided to act on that book and put together a decluttering challenge for myself. When I mentioned that I wanted to do it to my readers and followers on social media I was overwhelmed with the amount of people that said, "Please do it with your readers so I know what to do and can use you as inspiration."

Minimalist Wardrobe List: A 36 Piece Wardrobe
"You have HOW MANY pieces in your wardrobe!!!!?", my friend asked me one time when I told her I had a 36 piece wardrobe. I laughed. This is a friend that I would not consider high maintenance. I would dare say that I am more high maintenance than her!

Have a Command Center You Can Be Proud Of
Chore Charts! Reading lists! Meal Planning! Schedules for the whole family! "To do" lists! Papers all over the house! All of these things are out of control. Talk about information overload and this doesn't even include getting buried by papers left and right.

Who Else Wants to be Organized and on top of things in 2016?
I received a planner and accessories in exchange for writing a review on the blog.
Having a new baby seriously makes me loose my mind for a good year. Honestly, I am not just saying that. It drives me crazy and I needed something to help me stay on top of it. I couldn't forget one more thing! I like to keep all my schedules in one place (personal, work, blog, church, etc.). I also wanted to try and make my planner this year also my journal. Currently they are separate and I want to see how combining them works for me.

Craft Room Organization Labels
Do you have a craft room? If not a room then a closet with craft supplies in it? I don't know what it is about craft supplies, but they seem to be hard to organize (at least for me). I am also a perfectionist and I HATE clutter. Recently, I made myself some organization labels for my craft room.

Organization has a direct affect on happiness
I know some of you are rolling your eyes at the title and saying, "Yeah maybe for you, but I do not need to be organized to be happy." That might be the case, but I can tell you that everyone likes order.
If your house is more orderly then you might not misplace your keys as much. You might be able to find your favorite shirt when you are looking for it. When things are de-cluttered and more organized then everything can function better.

How to make this year the happiest year yet
I've mentioned the book "The Happiness Project" on the blog many times. This book was life changing to me and I thank Gretchen Rubin for that.

| This picture was taken right before I started reading it. I must have felt this book would change my life because I don't take pictures of every book I start. |
I put together my own happiness project last year and did really well until about July...then it fell apart. I tried to bring it back to life again, but it didn't happen.
I do not want this to happen again. I can honestly say that from Jan to Jun I was happier. I know this works and I want it to be lasting. So that is where you come in. I plan on incorporating my "happiness project" into this blog or what I like to call it my "quest for more happiness". I plan to share with you my failures and more importantly my successes. I hope there are far more successes than failures.

Monthly Planning
I'm sure you find this as no surprise, but I plan out my month as much as I can before it gets here. I usually plan the coming month the weekend before the month starts. I get that I cannot plan everything, but I try and plan as much as I can because it helps me not have to focus on it everyday or every week. I also get more done if I have it planned.

Weekly Routine for Kids
How many of you moms are strict with your kids routine/schedules? This mom right here is. I always have been. The longer I am a mom the better I can let it go if something comes up. Before...no way! I would have had a complete come apart if something came up that was not in the plan. I do not know by experience at all, *wink*

Blog Tour!
Today I am participating in a blog tour! I was very happy when Shanice from City of Creative Dreams emailed about being part of this blog tour. I had to say yes because I love reading blog tour posts from all bloggers. It is a fantastic way to get to know them. Of course I want you to get to know me better so I jumped on the idea! I will also introduce you to a couple of my favorite blogs right now. I have a lot, but picked a couple. First, let me answer the same questions that all the other bloggers have answered and then you get to see the bloggers that I am absolutely loving right now. You can see Shanice's answers to these questions on her site here. She has an amazing linky party every week on Friday. Go check it out to get a lot of inspiration from some very talented bloggers.

Decluttering solution
I will let you in on a little secret and it is a good one. I use a declutter calendar and it works wonders on my house. I found this website about two years ago. Every month I download the current month and start checking things off every day.
Honestly, many of the days I do not have to do anything because this calendar helps me stay on top of the clutter and the item or area is already decluttered. There are days that take more time than others, but generally I can take 5-10 minutes a day and get on top of the clutter.
I set a reminder on my phone to help me to remember to check this calendar. If I do not do this then I easily forget because of the million other things I have going on every day.
So go to the website, sign up to get the calendar (you won't get a ton of emails if you sign up...they are VERY few), then download the current month's calendar. Then get to it (if you have to set a timer like me, then do it). The key is to do it everyday and you will feel a weight that you really didn't know was there be lifted off your shoulders.
Clutter weighs us down and this calendar helps lighten the load. Let me know what you think. I love it!

Wow! First off I must say that I am so very embarrassed with how my pantry looked. I am being very real here. It is not like me at all to take a picture of probably the most disorganized place in my house and put it on the internet. For EVERYONE to see!
