Magazines...I love them. There is something about holding a magazine in your hands and reading it. However, magazines can build up. If you don't take care of your magazine pile then pretty soon you have a mountain. That mountain that was supposed to bring you joy now creates stress.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 12: Clean the floors
As I was walking in my family room earlier this week I was looking around at the floor and was DISGUSTED with what I saw! There was little bits of crumbs from crackers, there was tiny stickers, there was burlap "fuzz" from a project I was working on, and so much more. Yuck I thought to myself. When was the last time I vacuumed?

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 11: Dust
I look at my cleaning checklist for Wednesday and I cringe. Dusting. This step is seriously the worst step of the series for me. I don't know what it is about dusting, but I really, really hate it. I think it is the fact that it is never ending. I feel like two seconds after you dust the dust is right back.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 10: Wash windows
Who's ready for the next step of the cleaning series?! This is a step that many, many people look over. It usually only gets done when the windows are so far past gross. I can promise you this, if you give your windows some TLC each week then you will be happy.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 9: Empty Trash Cans
How is everyone doing on their cleaning schedules? Do you feel like you have more control over your homes and the clutter inside of them? The next step in the cleaning series is emptying the trash cans. It is under the weekly steps instead of daily.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 7: Laundry
How many of you have suffered from the "laundry mountain"? Does the above picture look familiar at all? It is such a daunting task when it gets this bad. I founds a solution years ago that has helped me so much.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 6: Daily Missions
We are almost done with the daily tasks. Only one more after this one! Honestly, this one is my favorite daily task. The reason why is because I see the most change with this one step. It helps me feel like I get more done every day.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 5: Clothes
I know many of you are going to think the next step is silly to have on my cleaning schedule, but I do have it on there. I put it on there to make sure it gets done daily. It is something that needs to be checked off daily.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 4: "Room Rescues"
This one comes straight from Fly Lady. She is a genius I tell you. I love the idea of rescuing a room everyday. I choose a different room everyday. Currently I follow this routine:

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step 3: Declutter
I declutter about 1 hour a week. You could split this over the 7 days in the week or put larger time chunks on days that are less busy. That is what I do. I split the hour over 4 days, 15 minutes each of those days. I do not put decluttering on my calendar on days that are typically more busy to begin with.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step #2: Kitchen Sink
This step might seem simple, but to me it can be very hard. However, this one step can save my sanity (hence the name of this series). A clean kitchen sink can help me feel like my house is more clean than it actually is. I know. Sounds weird, but it is true. A dirty kitchen sink is that weight on my shoulders that I don't know is there until it is gone.

Stay Sane Cleaning Series Step #1
Do you dream of having a clean home? I think all of us want a clean and orderly home. Even if it is not one of our top priorities. I think we can all agree that when our home is clean and orderly then we can focus our attention on more important things...like the people we live with for starters.

Blog Tour!
Today I am participating in a blog tour! I was very happy when Shanice from City of Creative Dreams emailed about being part of this blog tour. I had to say yes because I love reading blog tour posts from all bloggers. It is a fantastic way to get to know them. Of course I want you to get to know me better so I jumped on the idea! I will also introduce you to a couple of my favorite blogs right now. I have a lot, but picked a couple. First, let me answer the same questions that all the other bloggers have answered and then you get to see the bloggers that I am absolutely loving right now. You can see Shanice's answers to these questions on her site here. She has an amazing linky party every week on Friday. Go check it out to get a lot of inspiration from some very talented bloggers.

Window Track Cleaning
Cleaning my window tracks seriously grossed me out. They are such a neglected spot in my house and I have not deep cleaned them since we moved into the house. They were overdue for some deep cleaning. I found this pin and decided to try the window track cleaning section out.

I really like to make homemade cleaning supplies for many reasons, but my top two reason would be:
1. I get really bad headaches often so I like to eliminate strong smells and chemicals.
2. Cost
I have many that I have tried in the past, but listed below are my favorites.

This cleaning schedule has saved me...many times!

There is one thing that helps me stay sane and that is a clean house. I have told my husband many times that I seriously lose my mind when I do not have a clean house. I cannot relax and it seems like nothing else goes well if my house is messy. I like my house to be clean so when I find out an unexpected guest is coming over in 5 minutes then my house is at least somewhat presentable. I realize that we have to live in our homes so I want it to look lived in, but not a disaster area where it looks like a tornado just hit and everything is in shambles.
