Get Out

This post is written by fashion contributor, Cami.  This is Cami's second to last post!  I am so sad to see her go, but she is starting law school this coming Fall and life is going to be so busy for her.  We all wish her luck and know she will be fantastic at law school!

It is that time of year – the time to get out and explore.  I used to be a self-proclaimed nature-hater; however, in the past few years, I have begun to love being outdoors, and in particular, hiking.  I believe one of the keys to enjoying the outdoors, is having the right clothing and equipment.  When I first started hiking, I used some old tennis shoes, and I ended up with sore, blistered feet.  Once I decided I enjoyed hiking, I figured I would invest in a pair of hiking shoes/sandals.  After a brief internet search, and talking to a few “outdoorsy” friends, I purchased a pair of Keen Venice H2 shoes, and I have not regretted that purchase.  These shoes are comfortable, protect my feet and toes, allow my feet to breathe, and are great when I have to wade through water – they dry incredibly fast.

Another thing I’ve learned while hiking is that covering up is a good idea – keep away the pests and protect yourself from the sun.  I am a big fan of wearing light layers, I usually opt for some capris, a tank top and a light jacket; this way, I can adjust my temperature as the day and activities require.  I like pants/capris that are somewhat tight, but allow for lots of movement, and I tend to stick with cotton or cotton-based tops.

I would encourage you to get out, get active and explore.  There are so many awesome places to go and see, so you better get started now.
