Exercising Summer Routine with Kids

This post is written by Melissa, health/fitness contributor.  She also blogs at On The Go Healthy Moms.

Summertime is upon us and as a Mom, we are starting to think about how we are going to keep our kids busy.

We need to take full advantage of being outdoors, and being active with our kids is so important.

So here is a Weekly Exercise Routine that you can do with your kids to keep them from telling you that they are bored!

Monday- Go to the Park and take a walk with the kids! Find a park in your area where you can walk along the parkway and enjoy some fresh air! Do this right when you wake up before it gets too hot!

Tuesday- Take a bike ride in your neighborhood together.

Wednesday- Play a game of kickball. This is even a fun game to play with younger kids!

Thursday- Do some stretching or Yoga. And explain to the kids why stretching is so good to release tension in your muscles.

Friday- Have your kids help you to put together an obstacle course.  Running from one area to the next doing a different activity like jumping jacks, run in place, side-to-side jumps, cartwheels, etc. Let them pick the activities.

Saturday- Do some kind of sport that the whole family loves!

I hope this has given you an idea of how you can be active each day of the week with your family. Of course, you need a rest day- soSunday is a good day to relax with your family.

Thanks for checking in,

Melissa

Note from Shambray: I am so grateful that Melissa wrote an exercise routine that involves kids.  Kids love to spend time with mom whatever it might be doing.  So why not make the whole family more healthy during the Spring, Summer, and Fall months.  I feel like she wrote this post for me, but I think that is because a lot of women can relate to me when I say that exercising with kids can be difficult.  Thank you so much for the inspiration Melissa!

Nice post. I learn something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a little something from their store.
