V-Neck Shirts (Minimalist Wardrobe List: A 36 Piece Wardrobe)

V-Neck Shirt
When I decided to do the Minimalist Wardrobe List: A 36 Piece Wardrobe I was pretty concerned with picking the right article of clothing for each category.  Obviously, I wanted to make each piece versatile and able to work during any season.  It was a real struggle and I have made some poor purchases, but I have learned a lot along the way.

I mentioned in the post where I introduced this concept that I have a general order that I will post these detailed posts, but please email me at support@shambray.com if you have any input at all.

I wanted to do v-neck shirts first because I feel like they are very versatile and there are so many different options.  Also, they are perfect for Spring and Summer without having to layer.

Before I get into the two v-neck shirts I have in my closet, I want to try and help you make as little  of mistakes as possible.  There will be some learning to master this, but it is completely worth it in the end.  My biggest piece of advice is to pick items that you can layer with.  If you only buy long sleeved shirts and sweaters then Summer is going to be BRUTAL.

You also want to think about what is in your wardrobe so you can mix and match.  I am not saying to have a boring color palette or have no pattern at all.  I am just saying keep in mind what you have and buy things that could be layered and mixed and matched with other items in your wardrobe.

Disclosure: I was provided this shirt for free in exchange for a post showing how to style it.  This post also contains affiliate links.  This means that if you purchase after clicking on the link I will get a very small commission.

Let's jump into v-neck shirts.  I recently got a new one to replace a pretty plain one that I had.  I decided to go with something that had a little more detail.  I went with ruffles because I love the added detail they give.

Now I want to show you the different ways I plan to wear this AND there are actually so many more, but these are my favorite 4 ways.

V-neck shirt, cropped trouser, and flats

Cropped trousers are a great way to go when you are meeting with friends or maybe volunteering at your kids school.  It's not super dressed up, but not completely casual.  I actually could dress up this outfit with the shoes that I wear.  If it's a little chilly then layer the top.  So many ways to style this look.

V-neck shirt, pencil skirt, and high heels

The thing you want to remember about this ruffled shirt is that it is a little bit baggy.  So if you want to dress up wearing this shirt then make sure you don't pair it with a super "flowy" or "poofy" skirt.  That is why I choose a pencil skirt.  It compliments that ruffles very well.

V-neck shirt, cardigan, skinny jeans, and boots

When it is cold I like to pair this shirt with my skinny jeans and boots.  Then if I need to bundle up a little bit more then I put on a cardigan as well.

V-neck shirt, leather pants, and sneakers

I absolutely love this look.  Maybe because I love how casual it is.  Maybe because I LOVE these pants and sneakers.  I'm not entirely sure, but I love it.  This look is super simple and is a cute "mom outfit".

That is one of my v-neck shirts.  The other is a bit more plain, but it also could be considered a graphic tee.  I think at one point it was in my graphic tee section on the list, but it is now moved over to my v-neck shirt category.  I wrote all about that shirt in a post at the beginning of the year.  You can see on the post where to get a shirt like this or many similar options for your closet.

So there you have it.  There are my two shirts that are v-necks.  I hope this has helped you and inspired you to look for the two best v-neck shirts to meet your closet needs!
