Shambray: Women's Military Jacket (Minimalist Wardrobe List: A 36 Piece Wardrobe)

Sometimes adding a women's military jacket to your wardrobe can seem a little extreme, but you would be surprised with everything it goes with.

I was really nervous about having a military inspired jacket being part of my 36 pieces. I honestly didn't know if I would wear it enough to make it worth being one of the items. If you only have 36 articles of clothing and shoes then you want each piece to count.

I have been so surprised with how often I wear this jacket. I just got a new one. I had a anorak style before and I wore it often. Now I have a bomber style jacket and I wear it just as much. AND it is much warmer than my one I had before. I have been pleasantly surprised with this piece in my wardrobe.

Ways to wear a military jacket

I wear mine with anything and everything. Both of the styles I had were more casual so I never wore them when I wanted to dress up. However, there are military inspired jackets that fit more like a blazer. So you could completely be dressed up with the jacket if you had more that style. With my anorak style jacket I wore any shirt underneath. Now that I have a bomber style it is much shorter, so I wear shirts that come at the length of the jacket or above the length. I feel it looks much better that way.
