Picture Books That Teach Unselfishness and Sensitivity

This one is the cutest book!  My oldest is a little timid and that is what this book is about.  The timid character has THE BEST FRIEND in the whole world and that friend is super sensitive to how the Elliot is feeling at all times.  I hope my girls will be friends like that to others.

I love Mo Willems, so naturally I had to give this book a shot.  It was really funny, but so endearing to see how the friends in the book really think about each other.  That doesn't mean that being unselfish is easy, but it is worth it.

This book was way too boring for my two year old, but my five year old and I loved it.  It was so fun to see all the animals in this book be sensitive to how the peacock is feeling.  We loved it.

This book was so amazing.  I was crying almost the whole book.  I LOVED how it was about two kids.  These kids changed so many lives just because they thought of others.  Seriously just writing this little blurb is making me tear up.  This book is not for young kids because it is a little long, but it is perfect for Kindergartners and up.

This one was very simple and fast and easy to understand.  It is all about kids being unselfish and figuring out how to share with everyone.  Super important for kids today, huh?

Ok Moms out there.  This book WE can actually learn from.  The dad in this book is a rock star dad.  He didn't think about how tired he was when he got home from work.  No, he was sensitive to how his son was feeling and he made sure to do what he could to help.  I LOVED IT!  This one again I would do with five years and older.

This book shows just what sensitivity is all about.  Once again, I love that this book is about a girl being sensitive to others, not just herself.  Even though it was hard for this little girl she did a wonderful deed for someone else that she saw needed something.  And actually it goes a bit further than that in the fact that the neighbor who she does something for actually is one of the most unselfish people in this little girl's life.  So cute.

This book is wonderful when it comes to others that look different than we do.  Kids don't always get that and some times they can be a bit insensitive.  I loved this book for that reason.
