28 Ways To Be Happier2

9.  Say no if you have to:  It is hard to say no, especially if it is something good. However, you need to make sure that you can handle it.  You need to make sure that it will not break you.  People can only have 4-6 different responsibilities at the same time and still be effective.  If you are a mom then that is one responsibility.  If you have a job outside of the home then that is another one.  Managing the home is another responsibility.  Make sure you do not over do it.  Say no if you have to.

10.  Spend money on experiences, not things:  The very first quote that I posted on here was about how to teach your children the value of experiences and not things.  Things can make us happy, but after a time they can weigh us down.  Make memories and do not keep making your junk pile bigger.  This does not mean that you should never buy anything again, but to limit it and really think about the purchases you make.
11.  Take time to love your spouse:  It is amazing how happy you can become by showing some love to your spouse.  I did a post about ways to show love to your spouse.  They really are not that hard, but if you do them then happiness is sure to follow!

12.  Sing in the morning:  I got this tip from Gretchen Rubin, the author of "The Happiness Project".  This tip does wonders.  Once you start singing in the morning next thing you know you will be dancing.  I try and do this every day with my daughter and the days I do it, I notice a difference.

13.  Say hi to strangers:  Saying hi to others can make their day.  Add a compliment to that and you are sure to make their day.  However, being nice to others triggers something in the giver of the hi as well.  You will smile when they say hi back.
