18. Hobbies: Make time for hobbies. When we do activities that we enjoy it is hard not to have a smile on our face. There might be rough days when it comes to hobbies. Maybe you did not play your best game of basketball with your friends. Maybe you love writing and you had writers block. However, when you are doing something that you enjoy you will not mind some stumbling blocks because you know that you can get past them.
19. Learn about something you do not know about: This one is hard for most people to do. For instance, if you read about entertainment usually, but you know nothing about politics, then try and read an article on politics once a week. Start there and then start reading something daily. It might not be your favorite thing you read that day, but you will be learning something new and everyone loves to learn. However, some people do not know that yet.

20. Forgive others and yourself: Forgiveness can be so freeing. When we hold grudges it weighs us down. There is a weight placed on us that we do not realize is there until it is gone. Lift that weight off your shoulders. Feel lighter and therefore happier by forgiving others. Sometimes we need to forgive ourselves as well.
21. Play with your kids: Playing with a child is a sure way to keep you in the present. Put your phone in another room and get down on their level. You will soon forget about today's troubles and be whisked away to a beautiful castle or a pirate ship. Wherever your kid's imaginations take you.
22. Get outside: Natural sunlight is something that depressed people NEED. It is something that we ALL need. Therefore, natural sunlight will help you be much happier. Even if it is way hot or way cold get outside even if it is just for 5 minutes. Play in the snow if you have to.
23. Say yes to things (be spontaneous): Let's say that you are in bed at 9 pm. Your friend calls you and says she has tickets to a concert and no one can use them. She knows that it is late notice, but she really wants you to go with her. Everything inside of you is saying no. You are already in bed. You are tired. Although those things may be true and yes is not always the right answer, every once in awhile say yes to "crazy" things like this. You will not forget them and when you think back to them you will remember the memory with a smile.
24. Have a treat: Treats in excess are bad. However, a little treat here and there, especially ones you really LOVE, are good for you. It is all about portion control. It is good to splurge every once in awhile. That is what keeps the treat special. So relax about the diet for a day and enjoy a small dose of your heaven.

26. Help someone reach a goal or give advice: Helping others that need help is a great way to be happy. That way you are helping others be happy and in return you will feel happiness. It might be words of encouragement. We all need that every now in then.
27. Don't judge.: Judging and gossiping are energy and happiness suckers. Therefore, if we avoid them then our happiness can grow. Walk away from people who are judging or kindly tell them that you do not want to talk about others in a judgmental manner.
28. Do things that are slightly uncomfortable.: Take a class to learn something you do not know how to do. This might be drawing, sewing, cooking, whatever it is make it a challenge. As soon as you get even a hint better you will feel a dose of happiness. Continue doing things that are uncomfortable. When you complete them you will feel successful which in turn will help you be more happy.
