This book is one of my favorites. The whole basis of the story is so perfect and it is simple for kids to see just what kindness does. On the flip side it shows how being rude can really affect others as well.

Horton Hears a Who!

You guys! I LOVE THIS BOOK! I'm sure I am not alone. This book shows that no matter who you are or who is around you that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness. It had been years since I last read this book. I need to pull it out more often.

Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun

I saved this one for last (well last of my favorites) because I LOVE THIS BOOK! I had never read it before researching books to teach the different values. Oh my! This book had me in complete tears. I thought of my little girls being the girl in this book. When she was going through hard times my heart broke for her, but the best part (and the part I lost it on) was when she fixed her problem...all by herself. She is a fictional character and I was crying because I was so proud of her. Seriously this book is a must have!

Christmas Books About Kindness and Friendliness

Bear Stays Up for Christmas

This is such a cute book. It is a very fast read so I feel it can work for younger kids especially. I love how Bear's friends help him to stay awake and then once he is awake he thinks about his friends. It shows how friends are thinking about each other often.

Great Joy

This book is perfect for this time of year. It shows what kindness really is. Ahh. I loved this whole story and really didn't have to say much after it, because the story spoke for itself.
